The Wintel Engineer's role is to plan, organize, and build the virtual platforms and Microsoft Windows servers for infrastructure hosting at Reyes Holdings. This position will ensure that the systems are properly planned, installed, configured, secured, and maintained. This includes developing, maintaining, supporting, and optimizing key functional areas, particularly in VMWare Vsphere and Windows Server Infrastructure. This role will also be working closely with storage engineers, networking engineers, application team members. Must have excellent customer service skills, be highly proficient in both written and verbal communication, and must be able to lead projects.
Position Responsibilities may include, but not limited to:
Responsible for the architecting, management, support and maintenance of enterprise VMWare Vsphere and Windows server environments.
Responsible for Windows and VMWare system architecture and engineering: Building, tuning, and maintaining server standards in an enterprise environment.
Maintaining policies, procedures, and training plans for server and virtual host administration and appropriate use
Interaction with Active Directory as it relates to enterprise servers.
Identification and troubleshooting server performance issues using server administration tools and utilities.
Work with the architecture and engineering teams (Network, Storage) to implement, design, and perform configuration changes.
Establishes and maintains regular written and in-person communications with the organization's executives, decision-makers, stakeholders, department heads, Service Desk, and end users regarding pertinent infrastructure activities.
Adhere to industry best practices for Windows Server and VMWare Vsphere technologies.
Manage and maintain server infrastructure as it relates to licensing, compliance, portal management, and global administration.
Responsible for the service delivery of our server operations managed service provider(s).
Other projects or duties as assigned.
Required Skills and Experience:
Bachelor of Science with a major in Information Technology or related discipline and 3+ years of working experience and proficiency with engineering Microsoft technologies and troubleshooting in an Enterprise multi-site environment (> 1,000 servers) OR
HS Diploma and 6+ years of working experience and proficiency with engineering Microsoft technologies and troubleshooting in an Enterprise multi-site environment (> 1,000 servers) in lieu of a Bachelor's degree.
3+ years of experience supporting, maintaining and administering the VMWare Vsphere and VMWare Vcenter platforms.
3+ years of experience supporting, maintaining, and administering Windows server platforms.
3+ years of experience with supporting technologies and protocols including security, DNS, storage, Active Directory, scripting, and patching.
Prior experience working with a managed service provider
Possesses excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, and with the ability to communicate effectively with all levels of an organization.
Proficient in Microsoft Office
This position must pass a post-offer background and drug test.
Preferred Skills and Experience:
Thorough working knowledge of Windows Server 2008/2012/2016
Sound working knowledge of Internet/Intranet technologies including security features.
Sound working knowledge of network infrastructure and operations, including switching, routing, Ethernet, TCP/IP.
Experience with scripting in Powershell or Python.
Experience with Terraform Enterprise
Experience with Ansible scripting
Experience with Microsoft Azure
Experience with RedHat Linux
Sound working knowledge of remote access technology.
