Job Description

This is a great opportunity for a motivated, passionate, and driven web developer eager to learn new skills, gain exposure to all elements of a full-stack web application, and be an integral and productive part of our web development team. Primary responsibilities include providing day-to- day support and generating enhancements to the MyLifeLine and other Cancer Support Community web applications including the design, administration, maintenance, and improvement in alignment with the organization's digital strategy of innovation and growth.
This position requires an individual that thrives in a small, fast-paced, results-oriented environment. A successful candidate will have excellent interpersonal and communications skills, is collaborative and a team player. Our web developer must have an ability to work within agile project management approach and have a solid understanding of UI/UX, cross-browser compatibility, general web functions and standards. This developer will join the staff in our Denver office.
Job Responsibilities:· Provide day-to-day support and generate enhancements to CancerSupportCommunity.org including the design, administration, maintenance, and improvement of the site· Collaborate with the Lead Technical Architect on the design and development MyLifeLine's full-stack web application (HTML, CSS, JS, PHP, MySQL) and other digital applications as needed· Assist with management of platform servers and database, and perform routine application maintenance including security updates on all digital assets· Work effectively with web development team members to maintain enterprise web application code-base for ease of future development, and help develop team processes and documentation for quality assurance· Evaluate and assess site usage stats for UX/UI, programming and feature improvements and provide regular analysis through reporting as needed· Conduct usability and A/B testing as needed for application enhancements and new features to ensure requirements and quality deliverables are met· Contribute to digital strategy and operations discussions by offering technical expertise and recommendations· Continue education and understanding of technology trends and industry standards
Qualifications:· Bachelor's Degree in computer science, computer information systems, information technology, or related field· Ability to maintain and extend local, test, and production web server architecture using Linux, Apache, SSH, Bash, and command line tools · Familiarity with database administration, web server and application security concepts
Minimal Required Skills:o Intermediate level knowledge of PHP, HTML5, CSS3, JavaScript (3-4 years professional experienceo Basic to Intermediate knowledge of Drupal and open source Content Management Systems (1-2 years professional experience)o Basic level knowledge of Github (1-2 years professional experience)o Basic level knowledge of MySQL, SQL Server, PostgreSQL, or related (1-2 years professional experience)o Basic level knowledge of Docker or Vagrant (1-2 years professional experience)
Preferred Skills:o Experience with Codeigniter, Laravel, or other PHP frameworkso Experience with SCSSo Experience with creating or working with REST APIs
