Job Description

Be part of the datacenter management transformation!

Our charter is to enable Azure to run on commodity hardware while providing the SLAs expected by our customers. At the heart of Azure sits the Fabric Controller as a kernel of the Datacenter Management OS. At the bottom of the Fabric lies the Datacenter Manager which is responsible for efficiently managing the lifecycle of all datacenter resources and making that inventory available for hosting (internal and external) customer services.

We strive to deliver high availability and ultra-low operational costs by focusing on inventory abstraction, Datacenter health and correctness, lifecycle automation, efficiency and availability, and hardware innovation.

Datacenter Manager owns and manages all the datacenter infrastructure for Azure and is responsible for enabling/implementing scenarios at massive scale including: hardware deployment & configuration, health certification & monitoring, failure prediction, operation command & control, diagnostics & failure Analysis, device (HW/FW) upgrade, device repair & replacement, compliance.

We're on a mission to provide low cost compute, with high availability and fast performance guarantees to enable Enterprise/ITs/CSVs (Cloud Service Vendors) to host applications and workloads in the cloud. Azure depends on us to minimize the operational cost of running the datacenters. We strive to achieve a lights out, self-managing datacenter.

You are a successful leader who will drive the roadmap and feature set for Azure datacenter configuration, management and monitoring. You will be working across group/org boundaries to build strong relationship with internal and external partners.

You should be comfortable producing highly available systems that operate at massive scale. You should have hands on experience with architecture, design and implementation of large scale, distributed systems. You must be able to drive broad architectural and design improvements, focusing on building relationships and delivering on collective and measurable success. You are a great team player. You will mentor junior team members to provide design and coding guidance.

Join us as we scale up our investment in managing datacenter infrastructure to support Microsoft's datacenter scenarios.
