Job description We are looking for a Senior Systems Engineer with a focus on security to develop and maintain functional and secure systems. You will mentor a team of engineers to troubleshoot and optimize our systems for our users.
In this role, you should have excellent problem-solving skills and thorough knowledge of network and system administration and architecture. If you're also passionate about security and data protection, we'd like to meet you.
Your goal will be to establish and create systems that cater to customer needs.
Key Responsibilities -> Design and deploy systems architectures and applications for Linux based operating systems.-> Remotely configure and install Ubuntu and CentOS operating systems and associated application software. -> Monitor systems performance and integrity of MOD Mission Critical networks and services. -> Resolve issues either by escalation using tiers of support or directly troubleshooting cloud and local infrastructure -> Proficient in automation of various tasks to make the workflow more effective using Python, Perl, and/or shell scripting a must.-> Understand, implement, maintain and operate information system security controls and countermeasures. -> Intimate knowledge of various hardware systems I.e. RAID, SATA, Dell, HP, and SuperMicro BIOS.-> Maintain a two way communication with users and end-clients and maintain technical documentation. -> Suggest improvements to system performance, capacity and scalability.-> Ability to use various troubleshooting tools like PING, TRACEROUTE, MTR, TCPTRACE, TCPDUMP, and NAGIOS to diagnose and resolve issues -> Willing to work 24/7 and must be open to being on call on weekends.
Qualifications -> 5-10 years industry experience in systems and/or security operations. -> Proficient in Vendor neutral network & Security infrastructure (PFSENSE, OPENVPN, IPTABLES, OTP, and OTP) -> Demonstrate proficiency in Ubuntu 16.x, 18.x, CentOS 6.x, 7.x, MySQL, OpenVPN, IPTABLES, and policy routing. -> Prior experience working with Server infrastructure like HP Proliant, SuperMicro, Dell PowerEdge and various other servers using ILO, IDRAC, and other IPMI will be an added advantage.-> Experience in installation, configuration and maintenance of CACTI, NAGIOS, SOLARWINDS, SQUID Proxy, BIND DNS, LINUX FIREWALL (UFW, FIREWALLD AND IPTABLES), OpenVPN will be prefered. -> One or more of scripting/automation tools like BASH, Perl, Python, Ruby, etc is desired. -> Experience with automation frameworks (Chef, Puppet, Ansible, etc.) is preferred.
