We are seeking a strong Network and Security Engineer to join our IT Shared Services team. We are seeking someone preferably with PCI andor AICPA SOC compliant (or similar audit standards) experience. This role will be an integral part of the IT team reporting to the IT Shared Services Manager. The Network and Security Engineer will be responsible for enterprise level security by researching, recommending, designing and implementing security architecture, tools, training, software and hardware. This role will also provide network-level support of a multi-tiered network infrastructure, operating systems, and hardware, including installation, configuration, maintenance and support of these systems and networking devices such as switches, routers, load balancers, firewalls, etc., in addition to diagnosing and identifying solutions for network connectivity issues, reliability issues, security issues, etc. Interacting on a daily basis with the business, database, systems and development teams, this individual will work to detect, prevent and respond to security threats to our systems and users. This role requires creating preventative strategies to effectively prevent the loss of proprietary information, operating data and confidential user information. This role will be expected to conduct regular security policy reviews audits, updates, vulnerability analysis, penetration tests and participate in the remediation of any findings. The engineer is expected to stay abreast of emerging trends and best practices within the community of network and security professionals. Essential Duties Responsibilities Identify and define the system and network security requirements and advise on the design of the security monitoring infrastructure Configure and maintain essential network infrastructure hardware, such as Palo Alto Firewalls, Cisco Routers switches, Aruba Wireless endpoints Configure, maintain and support network traffic and security hardware, such as Barracuda Network Load Balancers, and F5 Big-IP LTM Network Load Balancers Configure and maintain network security hardware, such as Imperva Web Application Firewall, Trustwave IDSIPS Maintain and monitor Vulnerability Scanning (Nessus and Trustwave) and work with Infrastructure and Database teams to remediate findings Perform penetration tests using various software such as Kali Linux Metasploit Review LogRhythm SIEM logs and add additional correlation rules Monitor organizational systems, networks and computers for security breaches and conduct an incident response and forensic investigations as required Develop technical solutions to mitigate security vulnerabilities and automate repeatable tasks (PowerShell Python) Work with Infrastructure and Database Teams to harden all applications and operating systems Maintain PCI compliance and all related documents and auditory requirements Manage company's internal core networking services (DNS, DHCP, SMB, etc) Manage company's external core networking services (DNS, Routing, Firewall, etc) Ensure continuous and reliable network connectivity within a stable network infrastructure Write and maintain network and system configuration documentation. Document system problems and resolutions for future reference Assist with the engagement and coordination of third-party security vendors, clients and review client requirements Implement and administer security controls, procedures and policies Reviews security logs and alerts and respond appropriately Support a 24x7 global enterprise environment Stay abreast of emerging trends and best practices within the security industry Working knowledge of Routing Protocols (emphasis on EIGRP, OSPF and BGP) Local and Global Server Load-Balancing WAN Technologies (point to point and VPN) Network Management Technologies (SNMP) Network Analysis Tools and Sniffer (Wireshark) Other tasks and duties as assigned Qualifications Three or more years of experience working in a Network and Information Technology security capacity Two years or more working within an IT Security role Expert level working knowledge and experience with Palo Alto firewalls and Cisco routers switches Web application vulnerability assessment and penetration testing experience Working knowledge of operating system internals, networking and system hardening Working knowledge of WAF, logging devices, IPSIDS, firewalls, networking and other SIEM devices Experience with 802.1x, Radius, PKI, 2-factor authentication, content filtering Highly motivated and dependable self-starting, team playing individual Strong critical thinking, analytical, excellent oral and written communication skills Attention to detail, ability to multi-task and adjust to shifting priorities One or more information security andor network certifications preferred Physical Requirements Heavy Lifting (moving systems, installing servers and hardware in server racks) Prolonged periods of sitting (up to 7 hours) at a workstation operating a PC Heavy data entry (large amount of typing on a keyboard and repetitive motion with a mouse) Focusinglooking at computer monitor for long periods Reading documents in print and electronically Bending, twisting and stooping required on a regular basis Use of a telephone to make and receive calls Benefits We offer competitive compensation and a full suite of benefits, including medical, dental, and vision insurance, 401k plus up to 4 employer match, FSA, Colonial Life supplemental insurance options, Legal Shield, employee discounts on tickets and events, free on-site fitness center, game room, and much more!
