POSITION OVERVIEW: The Network Engineer position will provide technical and operational support to the client's CUAS program with the primary focus of identifying network solutions. This position will provide hands on support for network integration projects within existing infrastructure both CONUS and OCONUS. This position requires a high degree of technical skill, personal resilience and flexibility, strong interpersonal skills, and the ability to work as part of a cross-functional team in a variety of physical environments. DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES (ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS):+ Assist in the integration of CUAS platforms into existing network infrastructures.+ Provide engineering and technical support in areas of design, development, engineering, research, evaluation, and integration of network solutions.+ Assist in troubleshooting network and communications issues with on-premises or remote systems.+ Make recommendations to the PM for network modifications/upgrades based on analysis gained through testing and integration.+ Work within the team to integrate existing and new technologies to maximize capabilities. Primary Responsibilities Include (But Are Not Limited To):+ Test or assess equipment and their operational configurations. + Determine baseline applications on new equipment/technology and develop a test plan to gauge the network capabilities.+ Work within the team to develop and create a comprehensive evaluation plan for technologies Identified by the client's research initiative.+ Troubleshoot system problems and/or integration issues and determine network solutions in accordance with customer needs.+ Perform engineering assessments of new equipment and software upgrades for integration into required systems.+ Create customized training plans based on current systems, new system upgrades, and mission-specific requirements.+ Provide instruction through both field and classroom training.JOB REQUIREMENTS AND QUALIFICATIONS:+ 3 years of hands on experience in networking systems and appliances.+ 3 years of Linux experience.+ Experience with working in AWS or Azure.+ Hands-on experience with version control systems.Knowledgeable and hands on experience with agile, continuous integration, continuous delivery practices.+ Knowledgeable and hands on experience with agile, continuous integration, continuous delivery practices.+ Desire to work in an agile and cross functional team environment, understand team goals and generate appropriate, innovative analytical insights to drive process and experience improvements.+ Desire to explore, evaluate, and understand new technologies.+ Candidate must hold a valid U.S. passport or have the ability to obtain a U.S. passport.+ Current TS/SCI Security Clearance is desired. Minimum of SECRET level Security Clearance required, with eligibility to obtain a TS/SCI level Security Clearance.Education:+ Bachelor's Degree or the equivalent combination of education, technical training, or work/military experience is required.Experience:+ 5 years of progressively responsible experience as a Network Engineer Specialized Knowledge/Skills Requirements:+ Ability to work alone or within a group.+ Strong mechanical aptitude; experience working with tools.+ Sound understanding of Network design; experience with communications, GPS, and electronic countermeasures systems is highly desired.+ Ability to gain a working knowledge of Linux is required. Basic knowledge and experience with Linux is preferred. + Ability to use and communicate a wide variety of technical data from OEM manuals, engineering drawings, etc. to engineers as well as to non-technical system end users. + Position may require interface with customers at numerous levels. Candidate must possess, and use, a high degree of tact and interpersonal communication skills in daily interactions with team members, clients, vendors, and end users.PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS/WORKING CONDITIONS Physical Requirements:Routine manual lifting of objects 50-80 pounds such as boxes and other equipment. Perform work in unusual and sometimes difficult positions such as climbing ladders; scaffolding and high lift equipment up to 40 feet, crawl spaces, above ceilings, etc. Manual dexterity required for frequent reaching, climbing, and lifting of moderate objects, operation of power and manual tools/equipment, and operating office equipmentWork Conditions:Typical assignments are frequently performed in both internal and external environments with a variety of weather conditions. Ability to work under extreme hot or cold weather conditions with exposure to dust or dirt is routine and may require the use of protective personal equipment (PPE).Travel: This position may require up to 25% travel.
